This Animated Megatron was the fist figure that I did in Vacuum Metalizing.  If you followed my work in early 2009, I started chroming stuff with Alclad and Alsa paints via an airbrush.  After numerous tries to get a nice brilliant mirror shine with paints, I decided to give vacuum metalizing a shot.  This "sample" figure hooked me for good and I quickly said  bye-bye to spray chrome!  Don't get me wrong...  Good chrome finishes can be achieved with the spray stuff.  It's just the prepping of the parts that kill me.  Your surface MUST be clean and the right base coats must be used in order to get the right shine...  Protecting the finish is another can of worms!  Anyways, enough balbber from me.  I'm off to go upload more galleries!
