This months featured custom is a commissioned Masterpiece Grimlock figure that was completely chromed out via vacuum metalizing and then painted with translucent Tamiya paints.   This was a special Christmas commission that some unsuspecting Transformers fan will be receiving for Christmas morning.  This is my first Masterpiece commission and I am very proud of the results.  For those who are familiar with taking a Masterpiece figure apart, you've probably noticed that there are some screws that are hidden behind small plastic plugs that have been glued shut.  In this case, there are 2 of these hidden screws that are holding Grimlocks dino head together.   This posed a problem because there is a clear piece of plastic and some gold details in the neck area that I did not want chromed.  I could not send the dino head through the vacuum chamber in this condition because the chroming liquids would become trapped inside the hollow areas and could potentially damaged the mechanical parts in the head.   Since I could not send the head through the chamber, I decided to spray the head with Alclad chrome.  If you look closely, you can see a difference between the two finishes.
