The finish on this custom was totally unexpected. I originally wanted the finish on this to be black chrome with red highlights at the seams. After getting the parts from the vacuum chamber, I began doing a red wash on the parts by diluting transparent Tamiya red and using a large brush to "wash" the parts. After wiping off the extra red paint on the parts, I noticed a red tint on the chrome finish. I didn't think too much of it until I began spraying the Transparent smoke paint. As soon as the smoke paint hit the surface, the color instantly turned into at bronze color. Even though I didn't plan for this, the finish on this custom came out awesome! The figure debuted at the 2009 Cybcon conference in Tacoma, Washington where it received many compliments and positive feedback.
